As the right wing Media attacks Tim Walz because his brother doesn’t agree with him politically, here’s a reminder that Trump’s family has criticized him extensively over the years:
- Mary L. Trump, his niece literally wrote a book: “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man.”
- Donald Trump’s older sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, a retired federal judge, was recorded privately criticizing him.
They aren’t the same.

@PReligions @anders_aslund As another civilian reading news in three languages these days,I saw reports from what is left of Russian normal media about mothers who were not even informed about the numbers of their son’s units and it looks like they were moved from the units where they initially were 🤷🏻♀️

@anders_aslund As an inexperienced civilian, this seems hard to believe. I can easily buy that most of the soldiers were told lies (that they were on a limited peacekeeping mission, or Ukraine was the aggressor, etc), but how could you not know you're in a foreign country shooting real bullets?

Many observers are surprised that Russian soldiers don't even know where they are and thought they were on an exercise and not in a real war. This is standard Soviet routine.

@nataliyabrgnsky Walks, cleaning, laudry, talking to friends, making salads. I find the latter especially efficient because it makes me focused exclusively on what I’m doing and pushes away all thoughts because I obviously don’t want to cut myself. Always make tons of coleslaw when nervous.

@U_Malashenko Yes, agree about weaponizing the memory of WWII for years. And I SO hope it isn't working now. This language of "genocide" and "denazification" that is flooding Russian TV and the Russian internet is deeply troubling. Have to have faith that people see through it.

Putin has been cynically using the language of “denazification” in a barrage of propaganda to rally Russians behind an unjust war against Ukraine. This is right out of Stalin’s playbook.

@FranHirsch I don't know to what degree my feeds are representative since it's mostly well-educated academicians and journalists many of whom had to leave the country between 2014 and now, but I haven't seen a single post in support of this madness.
