“I see Atheists are fighting and killing each other again, over who doesn't believe in any God the most. Oh, no..wait.. that never happens.” - Ricky Gervais

Imagine an Iranian bomb had slaughtered 165 Israeli school kids. Imagine the response of the Western media and politicians. And note the lack of outrage and disgust here.

“The bill author said: ‘If one [cis] girl loses a game, then this bill is worth it.’ I guess we just have a different moral yardstick. Because I say: ‘If one trans child dies to protect someone's damn trophy, then this bill is grotesque.’”

@marycatedelvey @Opiumbrella Killing a kid - rather having someone else kill a kid - because he put rocks in a girl's mouth doesn't sound like an eye for an eye, it sounds like rage and miscalculation. Age 12 is a big turning and learning point. Problem is who can he learn from?

Forcing teachers to out LGBTQ students to their parents puts kids’ lives at risk. Some will die. Some will get kicked out & become homeless. Some will be sent to conversion therapy. The choice to come out to one’s parents belongs only to the kid & is no one else’s damn business.

I just left a classified briefing with the Trump Administration about the war in Iran. I was worried before, but I’m more worried now.

And I'm now being charged for my silent prayers yet again and await trial. If you believe in the power of prayer please pray for justice.

There's something to the claim that papists and EOs are polytheists. Each function with a heaven that is populated by accessible, powerful beings who hear prayers from all over the world and act in response. If millions in Mexico, Poland, Russia, and the Philippines can simultaneously address Mary or a particular saint and expect to be heard, then that creature must possess a capacity that Scripture reserves for God alone. Mary can hear all who pray to her; can respond to them; can dispense grace; can be invoked perpetually, etc. Multiply that across hundreds of saints assigned to different causes, trades, illnesses, and crises, and you now have a system of heavenly patrons exercising what are effectively divine functions. Add to this the language of “Queen of Heaven,” “Mediatrix,” “Refuge of Sinners,” “Our Life, Our Sweetness, and Our Hope, etc.," and all the sudden you now have a 4th person of the Trinity. Not to mention bowing down to statues & smooching man made pictures in divine service - things not even the cringiest evangelicals would do. When creatures are invoked as mediators, protectors, and dispensers of grace, even if labeled “subordinate,” Christ’s unique office & glory is now being shared with another, contra to what Scripture teaches: "I will not give My glory to another" (Is. 42:8). When prayer, trust, and reliance are habitually directed toward multiple heavenly figures who must hear, know, and respond across the globe, the result is functional polytheism & brazen idolatry. Another reason to flee Rome & EO, and come back to the simplicity of Christ and the gospel.

Canada is now euthanizing 2X more people per year than dogs. 16,425 people vs 7,644 dogs

Of course. The government of Israel is addicted to bombing hospitals, schools, refugee camps which are all war crimes.

The U.S. just killed the premier Shia religious leader during Ramadan, the holiest month of the Muslim calendar. As a reader pointed out, it’s equivalent to killing the Pope during Lent. Add to that an Israeli missile strike that killed dozens of Iranian schoolgirls. This will stir decades if not generations of enmity among ordinary Iranians toward the U.S., even among those who hated the Islamic regime. The idea that Trump’s war could transform US-Iran relations in any positive way —even if the Iranian people revolt — is pure fantasy. @defpriorities
