Buying stocks means you're owning a piece of that company so you need to do that carefully. 3. Trust in your personal judgements and not some quick takes online. 4. Invest in companies that have competent and proven management team. 5. Invest in management team that understand the trend and where the future is going. 6. Always look at a company’s balance sheet before you buy. It tells you if the company is at risk of bankruptcy. 7. Focus on the last 3years income statement of the company you want to buy. It tells you how much revenue a company makes year on year. 8. Invest in companies with high gross margins and profit model. 9. Ensure you are not buying in companies that are overvalued. Some share prices are over rated. Beware! 10. When buying in companies that are into consumer goods, pay attention to their product branding and marketing, it says alot about them. 11. Some companies are good at share buy back, dividend payment and acquisition. I personally prefer those that focus on share buy back and dividend payout. Mergers and acquisitions can lead to chaos and when it fails, it leaves the company with huge debt. 12. Finally, research is key to every investment decision. Look at every available information about any company you want to buy, it will save you from regret.

Maybe I should even apply to be a Notary Public. One Lagos SAN’s Abuja office once wanted to charge 10% of the value of my UK property to witness my signature on a mortgage application form. I offered them N5k, but they said they don’t take that kind of money. I left and went to another firm in Wuse 2. Once I said I was a lawyer, they happily did it for me for free. I later went back and gave them a bottle of Hennessy VSOP.

We see bold statements like this and we don’t make a fuss but the moment obidients say “Peter Obi or nothing”, some people will remind us that we’re in a coalition. Well, it is Peter Obi or nothing. We need someone that is energetic enough to run a campaign that will excite and spur people to vote and defend their votes, as we can’t outspend Tinubu. We need a leader who will “hit the ground running”, from the first day he is sworn into office. We need a leader who has a proven track record of being able to manage resources efficiently, with no history of embezzlement. We need a leader who is widely known, accepted internationally and can stand shoulder to shoulder with world leaders and not stutter. We need a leader who is accessible by his people and humble enough to listen we speak as his people. We all know who that leader is. We should for once set aside our selfish interests and think about the collective interests of the people.
