During my debate on immigration with @Noahpinion, I pointed out that a popular slogan on the left is "No human is illegal" and that, taken at face value, it expresses the belief that all borders are illegitimate, an objectively extreme belief incompatible with our system of government. Noah agreed that this is indeed the meaning of the slogan and that this view is insane, but argued that the people who put up those signs and bumper stickers don’t literally believe that "No human is illegal", it’s just a way to express sympathy for immigrants. Well, now we know that a significant fringe of the left really do believe that even the most basic border enforcement is illegitimate; so illegitimate that it justifies committing obstruction to try to stop it, to use babies as human shields to try to stop it (!!!), to try to drive cars at ICE agents to try to stop it… There are clearly very many people like this, and their beliefs and patterns of behavior make them incompatible with life in any kind of civilized society
