An inspiring visit to Liberation City in Harare 🇿🇼 a powerful reminder of Africa’s journey, resilience and shared destiny. The Museum of African Liberation stands as a testament to the courage of our founding fathers and the sacrifices that shaped our independence. It is encouraging to see such deliberate efforts to preserve and tell the African story from our own perspective. As we deepen cooperation between Uganda and Zimbabwe, initiatives like this reinforce the importance of linking our rich history with future opportunities in tourism, cultural exchange and economic transformation.

I have arrived in Kisumu, Kenya, at the invitation of H.E. William Ruto, to join him in launching the Naivasha–Kisumu–Malaba Standard Gauge Railway. This is a strategic project that will reduce the cost of transport, ease the movement of goods, and deepen economic integration within East Africa. I look forward to this engagement.

The meeting highlighted a key pillar of Uganda’s economic transformation, leveraging agriculture not just for subsistence, but as a strategic “ATM” for wealth creation through agro-processing and value addition, as consistently emphasized by H.E. @KagutaMuseveni With Africa’s youthful population at the center, the discussions focused on empowering young people and women with practical skills, knowledge, and opportunities to transition from primary production to agribusiness and agro-industrialization. This engagement reflects a shared commitment to harness agriculture as a driver of jobs, income and exports, unlocking real economic transformation for both Uganda and Zimbabwe through partnership, innovation and value addition.
