I was spending time at the biggest forest in Nigeria, Gashaka Gumti, in Taraba State, when I took this photo. The gun I am holding is to protect my canoe from hippopotamuses, which kill people almost daily on Mayo Kam. I lived with Fulani at Nguroje, on the Mambilla Plateau, while on holiday and learnt their language. I started visiting Yankari Games Reserve in 1986 at the age of 12. At 19, I was at Argungu. There is no part of Nigeria I have not visited. If you can tell me your village, I am likely to have visited a nearby tourist attraction. My love for Nigeria did not start today. It was inculcated in me by my family. The first cloth I was photographed in, besides diapers, was an Aso Oke Agbada. Nebuchadnezzar boasted until God turned him into a grass-eating madman. Many African leaders who thought they were gods have ended up in shame, exile, or early graves. No one fights God and wins. No one. Seyi Tinubu has exposed himself and his father's ambition as godless. He has insulted the faith of over 200 million Nigerians just to score cheap political points. This is not the kind of person who should be anywhere near power or influence in a religious nation. If Seyi truly believes nothing — not even God — can stop his father, then let him keep talking. Because the same God he has mocked is still on the throne. And He has a way of answering fools in ways they never expect. The disgrace is complete.
