It's a victory both on and off the pitch for York City.
After 10 years out of the Football League, the club returned in style — 108 points, and a dramatic 103rd-minute winner at Rochdale to seal it. Plans for an open top bus parade to celebrate were initially rejected by the council and police — until thousands of fans made their voices heard on a Change.org petition….
"In a matter of days, they proved what we already knew: this city is proud of its football club, and it wasn't going to let this moment pass without a proper send-off," said Seth Sowerby, Chair of the York City Supporters' Trust and the man behind the petition.
The parade takes place on Thursday 7th May.
"Bring the kids. Bring your grandparents. Bring your voice. This is our day," said Seth.
