👩‍💻 Iryna Khalmirzaieva is originally from Rivne. After finishing school, she obtained a technical education at KPI (Kyiv Polytechnic Institute), and later completed accounting courses in Kharkiv. Despite her technical background, she did not pursue a career in her field of study — her professional path took a different direction. She dedicated more than ten years to the real estate sector, working in sales and rentals. It was a dynamic field, but lacked stability, which eventually became a key factor in her decision to change careers. “I wanted to feel solid ground under my feet. I was raising two children and realized I needed stability and confidence,” she explains. In 2007, Iryna joined the 🔼UKRNAFTA team. She started as a Leading Engineer working with the filling station network. Since then, her career has evolved alongside the company: roles, structures, and approaches have changed. She has worked in non-fuel sales as well as in coordinating station operations — but one thing has remained constant: a systematic approach to managing the network. Today, Iryna is a Retail Operations Manager. Her area of responsibility covers a wide range of tasks: coordinating the operation of filling stations across the network, cost planning, contract management, budgeting, analytics, and overseeing processes related to station damage and recovery. Over nearly two decades with the company, Iryna has witnessed different stages of its development. According to her, the most significant changes began after 2022. “I’ve experienced more than one change in leadership, but it was after 2022 that I truly felt real progress — both in network development and in the company’s attitude toward its employees,” she notes.

👷‍♀️Olha Lepesii is originally from the Kirovohrad region, where she was born and completed her schooling. At the age of 20, she moved to the Obukhiv district, to the village of Hryhorivka, where she still lives today. Her professional journey began at the Chervona Zirka plant, and later continued at a collective farm, where she worked with cattle. At the same time, she was building a family and raising three children. After a career break related to raising her children, Olha took a job at a hotel complex. The decision to change her profession came during the full-scale war, when the facility shut down. Despite having no prior experience, she decided to try herself in a new role as a filling station operator. ⛽Today, her work involves daily interaction with customers, physical tasks, and responsibility for station operations. She refuels vehicles and advises customers on fuel types. She is also involved in technical processes. In particular, she takes part in fuel deliveries: opening storage tanks, measuring fuel levels together with the team, and assisting during tanker unloading. “We measure the remaining fuel, then take samples — and only after that do we unload,” she explains. According to her, this process requires precision and attention to detail. She also emphasizes the importance of her team: “We have a very good team. We support each other. Everyone is very decent.” She works in a shift with younger colleagues but does not feel any barriers: “I’m the only woman among the guys — but I really like it.”

👷‍♀️Iryna Kyslenko was born and raised in Pryluky, Chernihiv region. After finishing the ninth grade, she enrolled in a local medical college and, upon graduation, stayed on to work as a laboratory assistant. Later, Iryna decided to change her career path and entered Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, majoring in Power Engineering. She studied full-time during her first year, but after getting married, switched to a part-time format. In 2003, Iryna began her career at UKRNAFTA. Her first position was as a mechanical assembly fitter in a unit responsible for maintenance, including servicing fire extinguishers. This is where she gained hands-on production experience and developed a deeper understanding of internal processes. 🏗️ Six years later, she moved to the construction and installation department as an engineer. Her unit is responsible for manufacturing reinforced concrete products, metal structures, and other components required for well development and infrastructure repairs. Today, Iryna is responsible for the calculation and accounting aspects of production. She prepares cost estimates, maintains resource accounting, develops material requisition forms, and calculates production costs. In addition, she handles internal documentation, supports the transfer of materials between departments, and works with delivery notes in the system. Despite the fact that much of her work is computer-based, Iryna regularly works directly on-site. 🗨 “For individual or non-standard orders, I go to the site to carry out measurements and calculations,” she says. The team she works in is mixed: mostly women in the office, and more men among the technical staff. The working atmosphere is built on support and mutual assistance. “Everyone is friendly, and we are always ready to help each other,” she notes.

✅ Ukrnafta’s key focus is to ensure the resilience of the fuel market and reliable fuel supply for the economy — particularly for the defense sector — amid challenges caused by developments in the Middle East. This was stated by Timothy Dodson, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ukrnafta, in an interview with Oleksandra Nekrashchuk for NV Business. According to him, the Supervisory Board, together with the Management Board, is actively working to address this issue: • We are consistently strengthening the fuel supply system by diversifying import routes and expanding the geography of suppliers. The company continues to contract additional volumes of petroleum products. In the current situation, we are acting very proactively. • One of the key strategic decisions made over the past year was precisely to diversify supply. Fortunately, we managed to do this in advance. Today, this allows the company to respond more effectively to the current situation. • For Ukraine, the key objective is to use its own resources as efficiently as possible and, to the extent possible, ensure self-sufficiency in gas and oil. Last year, 25 wells were drilled — all of them successful. 👉 Learn how effective corporate governance at Ukrnafta ensures access to international financing and investor confidence; about the company’s institutional capacity; its development and ESG strategy; and the work of the Supervisory Board in the full interview at the link: ukrnafta.com/ya-znav-pro-cz…

Ukrnafta is developing its own engineering solutions to improve the efficiency of well workovers and reduce its reliance on external service providers. This gives the company greater control over costs and project timelines. ⚙️ One example is the hydro-vacuum bailer, developed by the “KRS-Service” branch jointly with the Oilfield Services Division. The tool is used to clean the wellbore and bottomhole in challenging low-reservoir-pressure conditions, where standard cleaning methods are ineffective. Its operating principle is based on creating a vacuum effect once the tool has been lowered into the well. This makes it possible to remove sludge, sand, metal fragments and other mechanical debris without lengthy circulation cycles or the involvement of specialist contractors. Before the introduction of this in-house solution, such operations took more time and involved additional costs. Now cleaning is carried out more quickly, with less technological impact on the reservoir and with better well preparation for subsequent operations. 👉 The tool has already been used during the workover of 12 wells and at two newly drilled wells to clean proppant from the bottomhole following hydraulic fracturing, which has helped shorten operation times and optimise costs. Importantly, the company is also able to manufacture hydro-vacuum bailers in-house. This means greater technological autonomy and the ability to scale up the solution without dependence on external suppliers.

👷‍♀️Olha Sydorenko was born and raised in Ivano-Frankivsk. After finishing school, she enrolled at the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, majoring in Business Economics. However, over time she realized that this was not her path, so after graduating she decided to pursue a second degree as an environmental engineer. This decision was more conscious and closer to the reality in which she wanted to work. Her studies coincided with an important period of change in her personal life. At the end of her fifth year, Olha gave birth to her son, and just a year later she began her professional career. It was a time when professional growth was combined with education and motherhood. ✔️ She joined the UKRNAFTA team in 2012. She worked as an engineer in the environmental research laboratory. Due to structural changes in the company, her position was reorganized, and Olha became a leading specialist in the Environmental Protection and Monitoring Service. Today, her work covers a wide range of responsibilities: environmental impact assessment analysis, development of research plans, site visits, sampling, and data processing. Part of her work also includes preparing reports for government authorities and developing emission permits. Olha values her job for its variety: 🗨 “Alongside working with documentation, I have practical experience in field visits and hands-on skills in conducting sampling at sites.” It is this combination that gives her a full understanding of processes — from theory to practice.

👷‍♀️ Inna Kurushyna was born and raised in the Chernihiv region, in the village of Krasliany in the Pryluky district. After finishing school, she enrolled at Dnipropetrovsk University, majoring in the design of ballistic missiles. “It was a time of major changes in the industry. When we were studying, they produced about 30 missiles a month, but by the time we graduated in 1989 — only one. As a result, graduates of our faculty practically couldn’t find jobs,” she recalls. Unable to work in her specialty, Inna began looking for other opportunities. 🛩️ She found a job at the House of Pioneers, where she led an aviation modeling club. “Together with the children, we made small airplanes by hand — there were free-flight models and control-line models. We built them from plywood or even from straw,” she remembers. A few years later, she and her husband, together with their young child, decided to return to the village. There they had housing and the opportunity to start a new stage of life. Inna found a job at a local school and began pursuing another degree at the Chernihiv Pedagogical Institute. Over time, the situation in the village began to change — the number of children was steadily decreasing, and the school faced the threat of closure. As a result, Inna started looking for a more stable job. Just a few kilometers from her village there was an oil field, so she decided to change her career path once again. She joined UKRNAFTA in 2004. At first, she worked part-time as a cleaner, later becoming a chemical treatment operator, and eventually a well preparation operator for major repairs. 🏗️ The job involved traveling directly to the wells. “We either prepared the tools needed to get the well ready for major repairs, or we went directly to the well site and prepared it ourselves — shutting in the well and preparing the pipes,” Inna explains. The work was physically demanding and traditionally male-dominated: outdoors in any weather, surrounded by fuel oil, crude oil, and industrial equipment.

🏗️ Ukrnafta has put in place a full in-house packer service for well operations. This means key operations can now be carried out by the company’s own teams, with Ukrnafta able to control quality and delivery timelines directly. A turnkey packer service has been established within the Oilfield Services Division — covering everything from equipment procurement and engineering design through to installing the tools in the wells. A packer is run in a well to isolate formations (rock layers containing oil or gas) and to manage fluid flow. The tool makes it possible to control production and injection regimes. 👉 Previously, some of this work was performed by external contractors. Today, Ukrnafta’s Oilfield Services Division delivers the full scope in-house. As of today: ▪️ service hubs have been set up in Poltava and Ivano-Frankivsk ▪️ the company has built its own equipment fleet of more than 110 units ▪️ electronic tracking has been introduced ▪️ an in-house calculation tool has been developed — the “Packer Calculator” A separate strand covers autonomous single- and dual-packer assemblies, which allow several zones in a well to be isolated at the same time and enable more precise control of production or fluid injection. ✅ The result is less reliance on external service providers, optimised costs, improved operational reliability and the development of deep in-house service expertise.

👷‍♀️ Olena Yakovenko was born and raised in the city of Pryluky in the Chernihiv region. After finishing school, she chose a practical path and enrolled in the Pryluky Agricultural Technical College, where she received her first education in Land Management. Later, her professional trajectory gradually shifted toward the oil and gas industry. Olena continued her studies at the Poltava Oil Geological Exploration Technical College and later earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sumy State University. Olena joined the UKRNAFTA team in 1999. She first worked as a computer data entry operator in the Drilling Operations Department and later moved to the position of boiler house operator. During that period, while already working at the company, she obtained another specialized education at the Poltava Oil Technical College. Her career gradually moved closer to the production process. Olena worked as a technician at a production base and later as a technician in the pipe and turbodrill repair shop. In 2012, she was appointed forewoman of a team responsible for the repair of pipes and turbodrills. This was already a managerial position where she supervised a team of repair mechanics and lathe operators. 🗨️ “A foreperson is fully responsible for the production process. You are responsible for people, for the operation of the lathes, for timely and high-quality repairs, documentation, and ensuring that everything is ready for drilling on time,” she explains. Today, Olena works as an equipment repair mechanic. Her responsibilities include organizing the repair of drill pipes and drilling tools, as well as maintaining technical documentation. She receives requests for preparing pipes for drilling, coordinates repairs, and oversees the readiness of equipment before it is delivered to drilling sites. Most of Olena’s career has been spent in production units, which traditionally have predominantly male teams. At the beginning, it was not easy—she had to prove that a woman could work on equal terms. “When I first started, there was a feeling of ‘you’re a woman—what are you doing here?’ But over time everything changes. When people see that you understand the work and can manage the process, their attitude becomes completely different,” she recalls.

📈 Ukrnafta’s current financial position remains resilient given the wartime conditions and a challenging operating environment: the company has been able to maintain a relatively high level of stability and predictability in its revenues despite damage caused by missile and drone strikes. Duncan Nightingale, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of JSC “Ukrnafta”, said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine. Over the past three years, the company has drilled more than 40 wells and increased production. Year-on-year growth was about 4% for oil and around 3% for gas; in oil-equivalent terms, this equates to roughly 3.4%. ⛽ UKRNAFTA now operates more than 660 single-brand gas stations and is the market leader by number of sites. The next target is first place by sales volumes; at present, the network ranks among the top three. Expanding in-house power generation is a strategically important area. “Projects have now been identified, financed from the Company’s own capital and funds raised, including from the EBRD, with a combined capacity of around 400 MW,” Nightingale said. 👉 Further details on the work of Ukrnafta’s Supervisory Board, development plans and outlook are available in Duncan Nightingale’s interview via the following link:

👩‍💻Alla Kalenichenko is originally from Dnipro. After finishing school, she enrolled at university, majoring in Human Resource Management. She chose the profession deliberately — she wanted to work with people and for people. The path to her desired role took nine years. Initially, Alla worked in retail. Later, she transitioned to the telecommunications sector, where she gained her first experience in HR. In May 2025, she joined the 🔼UKRNAFTA team. “When I read the job description, I realized that this position was exactly for me,” she recalls. Her previous experience was related to insurance programs, and this was precisely the expertise the company needed. By the time she joined, the company had already conducted a tender and was launching a voluntary health insurance program for employees. Alla’s responsibility is to coordinate the entire process: liaising with the insurance company and broker, organizing annual tenders, updating terms and conditions, providing clarifications to employees, and supporting them in complex cases. 🗨️“Health is fundamental. If a person is unwell, they can’t focus on work. When employees feel supported, it impacts both their lives and their performance,” Alla explains. The voluntary health insurance program has become an important element of systematic care for the team — and at the same time, a competitive advantage in the labor market. “When a candidate receives an offer, one of the first questions is whether medical insurance is provided. For the company, this is a matter of employer reputation,” she adds.
