@DamianWhite42 @DamienRactliffe All the games Cox got last season it should have been Steene. He was ready to be given a go. It would have given us a tall up forward and his rucking is pretty good. It allows Cameron to play behind the ball at his intercepting best.

@UltimateGreat @DamienRactliffe In games they’ve played together, Steene may have performed better on one occasion. We’re in development mode which is why Steene is playing and we didn’t keep Cox on the list. That being said, I would’ve thrown Steene in the deep end long before this week.

So the people that wanted Pies to go past Mason Cox, that then decide Pies should have kept him, reckon they’ve ever seen Oscar Steene play? Glad he’s making his debut; one of a number of guys ready to blood with a couple of preseasons under his belt

I disagree. I would’ve taken Steene off talent last year. The year before maybe not but that is a while back as Steene did have some injuries for a while. Last season was his moment to shine as he broke out this year. I’ve had big wraps on him for a while. We will see how he goes.

@UltimateGreat @DamienRactliffe Cox still a better AFL player than Steene but Steene is the future and we are at a stage where the future takes precedence over the now.

@DamienRactliffe @Jen2310 De Mattia interviewed well as Fly liked him as he overruled Hine. Hine had Morris as his choice. I haven’t been the biggest fan of Hine but he’s had some wins. Not backing him in to take Morris is something we should have done.

Q: Who took you under their wing at Collingwood? HVH: Big ‘Darce’, Darcy Cameron took me under his wing a bit. I’ve learned heaps off him, so that was really handy for me. Probably Billy Frampton as well, I learned heaps off him too. Yeah, that’s been really good experience.

@Jen2310 @piesman2010 We likely won’t have a top 10 pick and we’ve had plenty of kids not debut off the bat. Chances should be higher but it’s not guaranteed.

@Jen2310 @piesman2010 Wouldn’t you rather get one via FA. Especially when that mid might not be ready to go off the bat. Not saying Harry is the only answer but I’ll certainly be happy if we get him no matter the form. He’s got the talent.

@piesman2010 @Jen2310 Plenty of players have been touted as top 10 only to drop. Not saying it will happen but Ruck and KD needs to be a priority this season imo.

@Jen2310 @piesman2010 When it’s a position of need and he is talented to be taken at that pick there’s a chance. Only issue is does he fall down to our pick. Unless there is a very competent KD available Harry seems like the new option if we are talking on needs.

@Lachyjack1 Different type of players. Explosive mids don’t come good after multiple seasons as they have to build into their body. Predominately outside mids find it easier to build a career early. Jagger will have the better start but Lalor will have the better career once it’s all done.
