@SanoTheLantern But there is an argument here that it shows a lack of creativity with the concept. Which is why so many fans take issue with Palworld designs, yes Pokemon doesn't own the Ideas for their Monsters, but when so many designs retread the Same ideas, it raises many eyebrows

They’re not. They’re both whales, and while you may be able to stretch and say one is inspired by the other, Gamefreak doesn’t own a copyright on big whales. This isn’t the same as Cinderace and Verdash situation thankfully

@BigwaveX @Chibi22395 It's mainly because they use Pokemon's Art Style for their Pals, they can do that, it's not like Pokemon owns the patent to the Art Style But even then I see why there is frustration. The Pals, even after the redesign to a handful of the most egregious ones, look like Fakemon

@babylondomus It's one of those pals where it's similar enough to a Pokemon eyebrow raising but it's design different enough from that Pokemon that I can definitely say it's an Inspiration but not much else. Then again it's lore could ruin that.

@Peko_girlboss Their Japanese names one from Shogi Pieces rather than chess. But overall the Chess references in the English name still gets the point across of them being pieces in a Strategic game. The primary influence on their design then comes from Samurai Armor and Ronin

The thing is, Nintendo could have done something. For the better part of almost two decades Pokemon fans wanted an open world game where they can explore and see pokemon in the wild. They wanted to run around, catch them, battle trainers and actual players. They wanted to be able to interact with the ones they caught. Players wanted to live out the show but instead, year after year, it was the same formula being pushed out and finally someone took a majority of what people wanted over the years and made a legitimately incredible game. I had my reservations before, I never was a fan of survival/building games, but after just a hour of figuring things out I found myself loving it. Palworld, for a lot of people, is a game that takes all the good parts they enjoyed from other games and puts it all together in a complete package.

@ALegendaryDrops Now. I still think they're trying too hard to copy what pokemon is doing. With the Life Sim spin off game and immediately having their own TCG. But it's evolved to the point where I can say it has it's own identity and made room where it can comfortably coexist with Pokemon

This game followed up XCX, so my main issues was that everything felt simplified. Smaller less dynamic world. Combat system was really slow and less interesting playstyles/build making and challenge. Story is whatever and Rex is definitely a love/hate character.

I’ve been taking my sweet time with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and so far, I won’t lie…this is the first time I’m genuinely confused why people give it a bad wrap. I’m only on chapter 3 so maybe it just plummets as you go, but I’m loving this game too, WTF? 😭

Anyone who says TPC doesn't print enough needs to understand they DO print enough. The problem is scalpers like these are buying everything up and creating the scarcity. There are a LOT of everyone; just smaller numbers of assholes are hoarding them.
