Twitter has been a net positive in my life. LinkedIn on the other hand, a net negative. I'm creating something new and will be sharing it right here, first. ✔️ This is my "commit" moment with you, and me. Public. Teaser; -something to do with ai powered talent ✨️

I’m 5’ 8”. I’ve honestly never thought much about it. Yet most people on the internet (men especially) insulting me this week have been insulting me for my height I don’t get it Is the average man really that self-conscious about their height?? It’s literally not that big of a deal You just date girls who are shorter, it’s literally not that hard. They’re called shawties for a reason. Because most of them are very short! You can even date taller girls! Back in high school I used to hook up with a volleyball player who was like 6’. Everything’s in your head dawg. My mom is 5’ 1” and my dad is 5’ 11”. I knew I was never going to the NBA. So at an early age I based my confidence on my intelligence and humor, not reliant on my height. If you’re smart and funny girls will sleep with you, even taller ones than you too! I am proof of it! If you’re blaming your height or women for not dating you because you’re short, your brain is the problem not anything else.

@Jason I'm not notable but the strategy makes a lot of sense and it is already working. Very easy to understand. Happy to discuss whenever you want JCal.

Sam Altman says "people will lose jobs" to AI and "not everyone's going to like all of the impacts, but this is coming. This is a scientific achievement of humanity that is going to get embedded in everything we do," per tsarnick.

@drgurner @unusual_whales the caveat here tho according to Sama is that the *definition* of 'work' changes. That's where the many new & better jobs line comes from...

@unusual_whales The "many new jobs will be created...better jobs" was probably not accurate. "Some" new jobs will definitely be created, but not at the scale of the old ones lost.

@Umansphere It’s commenters saying it - both managers saying HR is forcing this and HR/recruiters fighting for it. It has been asides on a few non hr posts about people losing out on jobs lately or I’d agree. Although my post… I didn’t think I’d get 20 comments let alone…this

An HR/recruiter person on LinkedIn is arguing that HR and recruiting should have full veto rights on any hire - even if the manager and rest of team wants them. This is wild, correct? I’m trying to think of a world where this even makes sense.

If we want to “up-skill” people, we have to create jobs for people to do. If we want to create jobs for people to do, we have to accelerate artificial intelligence in human capital. To ascertain any skills people need, inventing jobs they will do should be the utmost priority.
