@UmpquaNF Is this not the same guidance that would apply along “high public use” roads on FS land? Hwy 138? FS Rds 17? 38? Little River Rd? The inconsistency with which the FS applies *its own documented guidance* is frustrating.

@scolephoto The forest does not normally remove hazard trees along trails, generally focusing on mitigation in viewing areas & parking lots where people tend to linger. However, due to high public use & the many scenic viewpoints along this trail, these trees pose an undue hazard.

Starting today, October 24, 2023, the temporary Forest Closure Order (06-15-00-23-476) for Chilcoot & Grizzly Fires has been rescinded on the @UmpquaNF. All roads and trails within in the closure are now open for public use.
