Watching the swimming at the Olympics always brings back fond memories of Sgt Gerry Boyle. One of the unluckiest Olympians we ever had. Missed out on a medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics when he came 4th in the 1500m freestyle. #OlympicGames #Seoul1988 🏊‍♂️ #Olympics

The only thing that can be said in his defence is, the pull of the Jersey looked to be too the side (on his blindside) as opposed to pulling the Jersey back, which would have been very obvious. Still hard to take though..
