It might still seem like the direction can change suddenly, but volume scales with distance, so the most sudden changes are far less noticeable, because they only occur when the music is quieter anyways. Big improvement over having a small set of static audio positions.

Here's a simulation of overworld music emitted from cave entrances while inside the cave. I updated from a rough algorithm to something more fluid to prevent jarring audio changes. Blue dots = entrances Mouse = player White dot = direction of music Red box = range of hearing

I decided to visualize collision masks (i.e. hitboxes) for the first time while debugging, and it's oddly satisfying to look at. Slug trails aren't interactable, but they may be in the future.

Who knew that picking up a chicken has so many implications. I've been working on picking up a chicken in my game for a couple weeks now, and just you wait. It's going to be the cleanest chicken pickup on this side of the road.
