@bigbadbob234 It's not really about giving them realistic odds, it's about making a fun game. And if some poor soul rolls badly on 100 realistic odds, that's just, not fun, at all.

I hate the mainstream game-dev idea that you should knowingly fake and mangle probabilities. Get a streak of 10 misses with 50% crit-chance roughly once every thousand shots? Very Good. 50% should be 50%, not "50% plus pity modifier where missing 5 in a row guarantees a hit"

Had the opportunity to speak at the Slush Conference in Helsinki late last month, then decided to backpack about 300 miles north of the Arctic Circle to as far north as I could reach on land. It was an incredible journey, and even got to see a feeding frenzy of orcas!
