A panel event on the US Election (Tuesday 5 November) will take place at Kent, reflecting on the history of presidential elections and discussing the impact of either Donald Trump or Kamala Harris winning the presidency 🇺🇸 It will take place in our Grimond building (Lecture Theatre 2) on the Canterbury campus at 6.30pm and is free and open to all. Students, staff and others from the local community will hear insights from experts at the University’s Schools of Politics and International Relations and History. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the panel questions and find out more about the polling process and the US Electoral College. bit.ly/40vbe5G #USElection2024

Congratulations to Fraser Cook, a PhD student at our Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (@DICE_Kent), who has been awarded the prestigious Judith Heath Explorer Award 2024 for Botany & Research by the Scientific Exploration Society (SES)! 🎉 With this funding, Fraser will embark on a groundbreaking expedition to Kapuas Hulu, Indonesia, one of Borneo's most remote and biodiverse regions. His mission? To map ornamental plant sites and collaborate with local communities to promote sustainable horticultural practices 🌺 Fraser’s research aims to protect unique plant species and support local livelihoods, ensuring a sustainable future for all.
