Thank you Hon. Fatuma @fullnetwork044 for hosting us to showcase the gains of delivering social impacts via integrated ways of doing things. Glad to interact with young girls and the entrepreneurs and hear stories from girls how they are able to go back to school and participate in various opportunities. The artisans behind the sewing machines were not only producing sanitary towels but also weaving stories of girls empowerment.
Hon. Fatuma Full Network, CBS@fullnetwork044

Menstrual hygiene is fundamental to dignity, health, and uninterrupted learning for every girl child. Yesterday, I had the honour of hosting the Country Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Dr. Shaheen Nilofer. The engagement provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the initiatives already underway and to explore how UNICEF can further complement and strengthen these efforts for greater impact. During the visit to the sanitary pad factory, we underscored its pivotal role in advancing menstrual hygiene management. The facility supports the local production of affordable and accessible sanitary products, thereby safeguarding the dignity, health, and school retention of the girl child. In addition, it undertakes the knitting of school uniforms for needy students across the county, further enhancing access to education and easing the burden on vulnerable families. This initiative reflects our steadfast commitment to empowering girls, promoting their wellbeing, and creating an enabling environment in which every child can learn, grow, and thrive without limitation.

Always inspiring to step out of the office and witness amazing meaningful work around us where walking the talk is a reality. Inspiring visit to GalCare social enterprise where local young women are producing affordable sanitary pads, helping address period poverty. From handmade beginnings to tech-driven innovation, this is a business model worth replicating. When girls have ideas and opportunities, they create lasting change. #Power4Girls

State Department for Gender Affairs - Kenya
We held a productive meeting with a team from @UNICEFKenya led by Dr. Shaheen Nilofer, the UNICEF representative to Kenya. The meeting focused on strengthening evidence-based interventions to socio-economic challenges that young women, adolescents and children, who are often victims of cultural manipulation and exploitation, face.
