This is what solidarity looks like. After months of action from individual unions we came together today to demand better pay and dignity in public sector work. ✊✊

The hilarious and over the top reaction from industry to workers bargaining collectively tells us all we need to know - it works, and it will lead to better pay and conditions for workers in the resources industry.

Rubbish claims from WA health in this important article. I've been working with these interpreters for two years and universally they have limited to no access to pre or post debriefing services after a traumatic event.
Caitlyn Rintoul@caitlynrintoul

Interpreters for some of WA’s most vulnerable — including sex assault victims and voluntary assisted dying patients — have called for greater protections from psychosocial harm as the industry grapples with a mass exodus @westaustralian #wanews #perthnews thewest.com.au/news/mental-he…

A clear message sent to the State Government today as at least 12,000 teachers turned out to take action for better pay and conditions. Largest strike in WA many years.

Sham contracting is rife across construction in WA. If this race to the bottom on a government project results in this worker's family being hundreds of thousands of dollars short, someone needs to step in to cover the gap.
Josh Zimmerman@joshua_zimm

The man killed on his lunch break while working at Bayswater Station was allegedly a “sham contractor” who had no super or leave entitlements – an arrangement that has also denied his grief-stricken family any chance of a hefty insurance payout. thewest.com.au/politics/state…
