Lol I had so much confidence doing the tableau part of my homework. Now doing the D3 network graph 🫠 but I’m learning JavaScript and relearning html/css.

I can already tell this semester is gonna go quick. Homework 1, hours of coding finished. Homework 2 more hours of coding has opened. But I’m more confident in Python and learning Java ☺️🤓

@chileplez I’m actually pretty comfortable with R! I was exposed to it in undergrad so for my masters it just built on what I knew. Java is an anomaly for sure for data lol but that’s how the class is 🤷🏾‍♀️

Data Science and data or analytics in general requires continual learning. Databricks keeps popping up so time to do some self learning and maybe even get a cert. 🤓💻

@iamKierraD To not burn bridges I’d discuss it with your manager but I’ve also seen my friend get blacklist basically from bad press

At what point do you tell your manager in the process? Do you need to have a certain rapsheet to have higher success transferring? Is it possible to transfer if your manager doesn't like you and actively looks to block your success?

Has anyone transferred internally before? To a new role? What tips do you have for those who might be looking to do it as well?

@iamKierraD Use your network! My job was created for me because of a previous connection who’s a director. All my internal moves are directly from networking. Also helps talking to the hiring manager about role expectations

@divinetechygirl Luckily you can start small and build over time. If she also wants a PC setup I’d actually go for the switch and dock connected to a monitor (it’s just an HDMI) so she can game on a PC or laptop or switch and start her gaming setup
