The Kardashev Scale is one of the most important ways to measure how advanced a civilization really is Proposed by Soviet astronomer Nikolai Kardashev in 1964, it ranks civilizations based on their ability to harness and control energy: • Type I: A planetary civilization that can control all the energy resources available on its home planet.
