Haven't really had the motivation to write an extensive Re: Zero thread in a while, but Arc 10 may be able to change that if it sticks the landing.

@666helldweller You're right on the money. Emilia is, ultimately, someone who wants to find their place in a world that seems to objectify her at every turn. That's why I think Subaru related to her almost immediately. They both are desperate to be accepted for who they actually are

@UnseenHand1997 who have their autonomy stripped away and is able to reach out to them because she understands how it feels like. The struggle of regaining that autonomy and not wanting to stay in that helpless state where others can perceive you however they'd like instead of your actual self.

@666helldweller And after Arc 4, where Subaru tells Emilia that he loves her for the flawed person that she is, comes Regulus, a man who forces his wives to become complacent dolls. Emilia is forced to step up and act as the guiding light to the wives that Subaru was to her

@666helldweller It's especially brilliant when you consider Emilia's journey up to this point in the story so far. Emilia is someone who wants to be seen as a real person and not as an object, but there's a part of her that, paradoxically, wants to be the perfect angel that Subaru saw her as.

@ramennnnoodle Subaru is also Emilia's Rem, who then becomes Sylphy's (+ the other wives') Rem. There's a big theme in Re: Zero about how kindness begets further kindness.

Peak dynamic btw; the way I see it is that Julius is falling into being wistful and "woe is me" about himself (think Arc 3 Subaru wanting others to convince him he's not enough after "trying"), but Subaru's not giving him any of that because he absolutely knows Julius is strong

@StormingZee I'd love to see them try to introduce Redbeard in some way. Soto does already fill the show's pirate quota, but considering that Redbeard is one of the most iconic Minifigures of all time, it would be cool to have him in even as a posthumous character in the lore.

@SkullZSkeleton No, I'm using it quite correctly, actually. Illumination's a studio that almost exclusively produces movies with zero substance or artistic intent, aimed exclusively at keeping small children occupied for 90 minutes. They don't make the absolute worst movies, but they ain't good!
