@UntoldWarFacts We donated a statuette of Wojtek, bought at the “Upside Down” house in Kashubia to Oban’s War & Peace museum. (Fiancée is Polish, and her great uncle settled in Oban post-WW2.)

@UntoldWarFacts There are many reasons why Josef Frantisek preferred Poles before Czechs, mainly because of some incompetent officers. However hr may have fought in Battle of France too. Interesting reading here

@UntoldWarFacts Take a look at this truly remarkable soldier please, he lived in the same road as my great grandfather and Grandfather, live around the corner now. The great Arthur Evan’s VC. Total legend. I put that cross there every Remembrance Sunday as a mark of respect.

@UntoldWarFacts He was a true fighter but his record was achievable because he mainly huntedGerman airplanes which were coming back after attacks. It means they had little fuel to spare. It means that they could not maneuver which made them easy targets.Still glory to this man who had his demons

@UntoldWarFacts I am ashamed of what the communist government in Czechoslovakia did to them after the war. Because these people gave us our freedom, and those red leeches repaid them with labor camps and gallows.
