Have tried communicating the same in closed channels! So much opportunity for a KLCC park-styled development, a signature tower overlooking the lake & a transit hub. Plotting them for more run of the mill luxury residential projects will be a planning tragedy. 😮‍💨

🚨 Big! Telangana Govt. is moving ahead with clearances for Phase 1 of the Musi Riverfront Development project in a 50m buffer on either side of the river. Infrastructure includes landscaped areas, cycling paths, a road network, and an embankment for flood control. River cleaning/desilting will be carried out up to a depth of 2m. Phase 1 will have 2 sub-phases : 🔸1A - Himayat Sagar to Bapughat (9 km) 🔸1B - Osman Sagar to Bapughat (11 km) Estimated Phase 1 cost : ₹5,641 Crores

The govt’s planned takeover of Phase 1 metro from L&T is the best news for Hyd in a while! Should clear all roadblocks for Phase 2 approvals.🚇 Hopefully, the long-overdue 6-coach trains will also be procured on the Red & Blue Lines, maybe after monetizing the unused TOD land.

Gentle reminder that even in the best-case scenario, we won't see any lines materialize before 2030. Can only imagine what a "Not any time soon" scenario would look like. 🤦

#Opinion Current govt. has made several ambitious proposals but deep down will be happy if they just get a dedicated footpath network + underground utilities program going like Bengaluru's TenderSURE! The current state of footpaths (where they exist) in Hyderabad is deplorable in most areas.

Phase 2 Metro is headed in the right direction! 🚉 DPRs have been submitted to the Centre and funding will be through State-Centre JV & low-interest loans from Multilateral Development Banks like JICA. Just how it should have been for Phase 1 as well... Hopefully not much delay from the Centre in approving the project 🤞

Blue Line now extends all the way to Neopolis via Financial District as we had speculated before, which is huge! 🔸 Length - 116.2 km 🔸 Est. Cost - ₹32,237 Cr Proposed as a JV between State & Central Govt, hopefully finalized & taken up soon.
