@AJDelgado13 Additionally, to generalize that most rescues who save dogs from MDAS are not legitimate is doing a huge disservice to the many injured & ill dogs who wait to be saved & are losing their lives daily...like Nancy. There are 480+pets there right now waiting to be saved.

@UrgentDogsMiami Hm, nope. Over the years, I've seen rescue groups pull dogs you posted about (and I know you're just trying to help) whose only online presence is a Facebook page, and sometimes not even that. One even claimed to be a c3 and wasn't.

Here's a problem, and I see this on the @UrgentDogsMiami page, sadly. Folks, in good faith, will post about a dog. People will respond, pledging $20 or $50, etc, which is to say "I'll donate 20, 50 to whichever rescue group saves this dog/gets it out of the shelter."

.@AdoptMiamiPets : Why does Miami Dade Animal Services continue to allow "rescue groups" (NONE of which are vetted and can just be criminals looking to collect online pledge $ who then dump the dog) to have priority over ACTUAL families looking to adopt?

@AJDelgado13 If the shelter gives a rescue pull rights, that means that the county has done due diligence & put them through a vetting process. If you see rescues that are pulling from the shelter that seem to be suspect, those should be reported to the shelter for review by them.

@AJDelgado13 FYI- There are good, legitimate rescue groups who truly need help with medical bills because some of the dogs they pull have fractures etc. We *only* post for people to honor pledges when it is a legitimate 501c3 who we know does the work, posts vet bills & follow ups.

So, seriously, STOP asking people to pledge. All that does is given an INCENTIVE for some crazy ass evil people to come in with a "rescue group" and take the dog out, to collect the $. (Even if it's just $200 in pledges, ppl will do it.)
