This week is World Antimicrobial Awareness Week. It takes place each year and is led globally by the World Health Organization. Their campaign aims to increase awareness of Global Antimicrobial Resistance and to encourage best practices in order to avoid the further development of drug-resistant infections. Antibiotics are losing their effectiveness due to overuse and misuse.
