i must be missing something.. so, in order for what you described to happen:
1. you must have gone to a 30+ day vacation (i’d argue it’d be pretty rare for 99% of the people)
2. come back to a home with no internet (somehow, you lost connection while you were.. gone?)
3. have no means to connect your ps5 even momentarily (a mobile hotspot would take less than a minute?)
and i’d argue, that the chances of all of these happening in this order at the same time would be.. pretty slim?
and if they do, how often..? for me, maybe once in a lifetime..? so honestly (and personally) i don’t see why people are making this a huge problem at this point..
they must be seeing something that i don’t.. which could be quite plausible.. i just need someone to help me understand what it is in practice..

PlayStation support has confirmed that a new digital rights management policy for the console is intentional, not a glitch.
Starting with any digital games purchased after the March 2026 system update, your PS5 will require an internet connection at least once every 30 days to validate the license.
If the console stays offline longer than that, the games simply will not launch until you reconnect.
This change does not affect any titles already in your library. Setting a console as your primary system also will not bypass the monthly check-in.
