Think United have done okay first half. Decent shape, threatening on the counter at times (but not enough).
Not as disastrous as some are making out.
We've got to be bolder in the 2nd half and take the game to them. Up the tempo, and tenacity.
As usual the quality of the final ball needs to improve out wide, but the Reds still in it.
That goal was avoidable make no mistake. Bruno let Foden go badly. The formation working okay overall though.
We still need to find a way to threaten through the middle.

Dorgu probably paying the price for a perceived lack of quality from his final ball.
But in his defence he certainly isn't the only one - United plagued by inadequate service out wide for a season or two. Garnacho, Rashford, Antony, Amad (lately) and Dalot himself - who seemingly has been given the nod at Dorgu's expense.

A United team with Bruno Fernandes can be frustrating. A United team without Bruno Fernandes *is* frustrating. What gives?
Uniteds biggest problem is that for at least two seasons the players haven't been able to conistantly transiton through the middle. We've shown glimpses of transition from the wide poisions but the quality of final ball from the likes of Garnacho, Rashford, Antony, Dalot, Durgu and Amad (lately) has been inadequate.
Our number nines have all too often appeared forlorn figures, bereft of service.
United have to, once again, be able to effectively transition on a consistant basis.
Whats the one selection consistant during those two seasons? Probably Bruno Fernandes.
Are we capable of transition with Bruno Fenandes in the team? Of course we are.
We have to unlock Bruno once again - and with it we unlock the problem of transition. That for me has to involve him in a more advanced position.
Presuming we are capable of finding him in space from decent defensive distribution, he then has to use his unquestionable passing ability to release the ball quicker and with devastating effect. Perhaps simplify his final ball.
I can't see us freeing Bruno up without a single pivot around a top-quality holding midfielder. We either make Mainoo or Ugarte (or someone) work in that position or we have to go out and buy big.

One last note - the only real negative in the Arsenal game was the quality of delivery in the final third from our wide positions. Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu fell short.
So Amad Diallo gets the nod over Diogo Dalot in another attacking move and Dorgu keeps is place but has to improve his final ball.

So its really unfortunate for the impressive Casemiro but he loses out for Ugarte, and equally for Mason Mount as he'd have to be the fall guy for Benjamin Sesko.
If fit enough, I'd be bold and play Sesko up front vs Fulham with Mount ( or Joshua Zirkzee ) as alternatives going forward.
My United X1 vs Fulham and the base for a really successful season. ( obv keeper position need sorting!):
United XI: Onana, Yoro, De Ligt, Shaw, Diallo, Ugarte, Fernandes, Dorgo, Mbeumo, Cunha, Sesko.

Its widely acknowledged that despite the defeat to Arsenal in the opening weekend, United were a greatly improved team from last from last season.
First to the tackle, physically strong, immense energy levels - what does Ruben Amorim do to add to the team that, in many ways, dominated Arsenal?
The selection headache is compounded by the fact that two of the players you would thing are candidates to be replaced had excellent games - namely Mason Mount and Casemiro.
So what does Amorim do? Is there a place for Benjamin Sesko at the expense of Mason Mount? Can Casemiro hold his place or will the boss tweak the midfield? After all United did lose the game at Old Trafford last Sunday.
The Fulham game in many ways is a must win for United and they must be bold. I think there has to be changes and after studying the Arsenal clash I see starting XI that would be a template for a very solid core line up this season. One of my choices wouldn't perhaps be to popular amongst the Old Trafford masses at the moment. So where do we go selection wise? Here goes..
