@Mish_clinton I agree with you, I can't lie. Some of the worst transfers we've experienced in a while have been sourced from there, even the coaches to an extent.

We need to seriously look into signing Christos Tzolis this summer and pull a lammens on him this summer. guy is only 24, already been tearing it up with Club Brugge & he’s got that direct dribbling style we’ve been missing on the wing. He fits perfectly: young, hungry, high ceiling, and realistic fee. Let’s not sleep on this one. Tzolis to us would be a statement signing.
CFC Khris⭐️⭐️@CFCKhris

Y’all aren’t ready for Christos Tzolis… no way anyone tells me he’s not ready for the premier league. He’s a goal poacher and a chance magnet, we can’t let Man United add this guy to a squad that already has Bruno Fernandez.

@FrankEra_ I'd say this. If we're getting both Ederson and Fernandes, there's ABSOLUTELY no reason to get Tonali over Baleba......unless we're still able to get Anderson.

🚨🚨 EXCLUSIVE: ARNE SLOT AND LIVERPOOL TO PART WAYS WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. 💣 It’s over between the Dutch manager and Liverpool after end of the season review. 👋🏼 Andoni Iraola, clear favorite to take over as next #LFC head coach.

Like!!!!!!!! That's literally the best time to get players, especially midfielders as that's literally the entry point of their f****** PRIME! The point where most of them they have honed all their skills and refined them to define the players they truly are, as well as developed mentally to handle pressure.

One thing I’ve learnt/can’t get my head around from the Ederson discourse is that some people genuinely think players aged 26-27 are past their prime 😂 I’m seeing “he turns 27 this year” comments as if that’s a bad thing?!

Still won huge majority of his duels and excelled in games where we were given space to run in behind. Small sample size hinders my full view but I strongly believe he'll struggle a lot against low blocks which we will likely face much more often next season. Also, I'd rather have a super attacking LB that's also a monster at winning duels than a mediocre LW who's good defensively. As of now though, I admit the stats/numbers make a good case for him to be LW.

Very small sample size but I liked what Dorgu brought as a left winger in limited minutes However none of the traits he showed in that position translate to being a left back

@leysius That has always been it. United fans just enjoy overreacting. It's a steal of a deal for the calibre of player. Elanga and Bynoe-Gittens literally cost £55m+ add ons and here is a £38m signing with meager salary and hell's breaking lose.

WHY I AM SUPER RELAXED ABOUT THE EDERSON SIGNING👇🏽 It reminds me so much of Ander Herrera's signing in 2014. Not much was known about him prior to signing for Utd, and it was a bit underwhelming (for me at first) as we were recently linked and even agreed terms with players like Toni Kroos and Thiago Alcantara, even Fabregas' name was thrown around as well. To cut the long story short, he turned out to be a MASSIVE FAN FAVORITE, one of our best signings post-Fergie. He was a CM, but put in great shifts wherever he was deployed (DM or AM). The Hazard-man marking game stands out as one of my favorite performances. He had all the basics and above all, the workrate and legs to cover every blade of grass with intensity, while still being good in possession (unlike Fred or Ugarte). Sounds like what Ederson would offer. Unfortunately, the chaos of the Woodward-led era ensured we never followed up with a structured plan or with elite signings to take us to the next level. That is not the case with INEOS. If he's going to be the 3rd MF signing, alongside Fernandes and Anderson/Baleba/Tonali, this is a masterstroke of a signing for £38m. We will literally end up with FOUR PLAYERS (Tonali/Baleba, Fernandes, Mainoo and Ederson) for TWO POSITIONS behind Bruno Magnifico Fernandes. I don't see how that is remotely a problem or how that is not good enough to challenge any midfield out there.

Can argue plenty and people will re Ederson's quality, ceiling, etc. But its the intention of the signing that should be encouraging and allay some concerns about next season. Not a player you sign to "sit deep", but for a pro active, aggressive, pressing football team.

Exactly what I keep saying. United fans actually destroy their players' confidence more than their actual performances do. We do 70% of the work of rivals, instead of supporting. I believe Ederson will surprise a lot of people but from the moment he puts on that red shirt, I will support him 100000%

Where we finished doesn't invalidate performances of players. This is like saying Bruno was also shit last season because we finished so low. We would have finished 15th again or similar if we had Onana in goal and an attack with a 4-league goal striker, as well as Garnacho. One of them was enough to send Chelsea from grace to grass.

@UtdMikeRoss In a related story, United finished 15th last year. That’s what’s going to happen if Mazraoui is your second best player

Sunday was Mazraoui's best game in a Utd shirt and if he could do that every time he'd actually be a serviceable backup for this team But there's nothing in his performances from the last 2 years that suggests he'd play the way he played the last 40 minutes consistently

@MattyT99 100% with you, especially if the price of Tonali is premium. If it's the same price, then we could have a conversation.

I will make a more comprehensive post on this later — but signing Ederson has the added benefit that it improves our negotiation position in relation to other midfield targets. Simply — negotiations are extremely simple. They are all about ”leverage”. Hence, negotiations are all about selecting when you negotiate and the position you are in when you negotiate. We will never get good deals for Ugarte and Onana because we have zero leverage. We are in a much better position to negotiate a decent deal for Matheus Fernandes because West Ham got relegated which gives us leverage. To be able to enter negotiations when it suits you — you need time and flexibility. We never have either. Newcastle were in a horrible position leverage-wise when they signed Woltemade and Wissa. They had ran out of time. Without Ederson or our first CM signing — pannick is around the corner. The summer will fly by with the World Cup. Any selling club can stall a transfer which just will put more pressure on United. Everyone will try to push us into the same corner Newcastle ended up in last summer. Get in Ederson and Fernandes and everyone wanting to go to MUFC will have to start to think of things from a fear of missing out perspective. From a Tchoumani POV, we have 3 midfielders to sign. He can take his time. If Fernandes and Ederson get done — it’s 1 spot and all it takes is another deal to get done and the door is shut. In this context —
The United Stand@UnitedStandMUFC

🚨 Man Utd's plan to sign a marquee midfielder is not expected to be altered by Ederson's potential arrival. Chiefs at Old Trafford have earmarked significant investment to sign a successor to Casemiro. [@StevenRailston] #MUFC

Because the ratings are not based solely on goals or assists. Key passes, forward passes, dribbles completed, possession won/lost, carries, big chances missed or created all factor in. The Arsenal game wasn't Bruno's best and he missed a big chance. Without the assist, the rating would've been much worse.
