Finally saw The Odyssey. I thought it was good. I’d rank it middle of the pack in my personal Christopher Nolan movie rankings. Haven’t settled on exactly where, still digesting. But I’d put it in the 4th-7th range.

President Trump promised not to add to the national debt during his presidential campaign -- and, in fact, that he would pay it down.
He has failed badly on both counts.
President Trump has become the worst-spending President in our history, adding ~$2.2-$2.3 T to the national debt in each of his first two years and in his second term.
He's on track to add $9T+ in his second term, beating the previous high-water mark of $7.8T -- set by his first term.

It's good. If this is woke garbage, then that word ("woke") means nothing anymore--like the word "Nazi." All of the cast are of all different ethnicities, so if that's too triggering for you, this film's not for you. They weren't going for historical accuracy (obviously). It's Nolan's gritty retelling of the Odysseus myth. And if Ellen Page's inclusion in the film upsets you--same thing. Nolan likes reusing actors. (Page was in Inception.) Her character is important to the film, but her pretending to be a boy really isn't that distracting. She doesn't really get that much screen time. The first act had me doubting a little bit, but it just gets better from there imo. The emotional payoff at the end is huge. Seeing Nolan's take on the fantastical is cool--giants, monsters, (SPOILERS!!!) people turning into animals. Real horror elements. Mostly practical effects (from what I can tell). Classic Nolan cinematography and sound design (LOUD). It's much more straight forward than Nolan's other films. Less non-linear storytelling. I like the central theme of the film too--(SPOILERS!!!) Zeus's Law (treating strangers with kindness and hospitality, being honest in your dealings with your fellow man) and the consequences of violating that law. I say it's definitely worth a watch. Don't let the haters dissuade you.
