Forgive me if I'm not high Dampier, but he went 12-12 TD-INT against this schedule: Arizona (4-8) Auburn (5-7) Fresno State (6-7) NMSU (3-9) AF (5-7) USU (4-8) CSU (8-5) Wyoming (3-9) SDSU (3-9) Wazzu (8-5) Hawaii (5-7) 54-81 (0.400) Dampier only played 2 FBS teams with a winning record. That's insane. The best defenses in terms of PPG he faced all year were Auburn (29th), AF (48th), Fresno State (65th). He went 12-12 playing below average defenses all year. I'm just having a hard time believing that a new offensive staff is going to go to Utah with Damp, nobody to throw to, and deal with the handcuffs of Whitt, and somehow light it up on offense. I know the OL is projected to be really good, and I think those projections are deserved, but I'm just not a believer at all. I just don't think Utah has anybody down the field to throw to that would challenge anybody in the Big XII, and so you're looking at a loaded box and praying your running game gets it done and risking just getting banged up every week, or trusting a QB that doesn't pass well against bad defenses to throw to bad receivers against good defenses? I'm just not buying it. Utah can prove me wrong, and maybe they will. Bookmark it. Come back and go, "haha!" if you really want to, but I'm not a believer right now.
