I have a lot to say about gifting especially when gifting people with networth of $700k and above. My angles; intent, relevance, connection. And I’ll say it as honestly as possible. I feel like a lot of people don’t actually understand gifting. It’s not about effort, how long it took you, how “creative” it looks. The real question is: What is the receiver going to do with it after that moment? Because gifting is not for the camera. It’s for memory. You can spend hours crocheting something, designing something, packaging something… but if the person has no real use for it, it ends up in a corner, a wardrobe, or forgotten completely. And that defeats the whole purpose. I’m not saying effort is not appreciated. It definitely is, but understand that impact matters more than effort. I’ve received gifts over time; watches, perfumes, journals, simple items, even small packages put together thoughtfully, and the ones I remember are not the most “expensive” or the most “creative.” They’re the ones I actually used, that fit into my life because every time I use them, I remember the person. That’s what good gifting does. It keeps you present in the receiver’s life even after the moment has passed. Someone might say, “What if we don’t know what you need or what fits into your life?” That’s fair. You’re not expected to know everything about someone, but good gifting has never been about guessing blindly, rather, its about paying attention. What does the person talk about often? What do they use regularly? What kind of lifestyle do they live? You don’t need full access to get it right. You just need observation. And even if you’re unsure, there’s a safe lane: give things that are universally useful. So no, you don’t need to “know everything.” But you shouldn’t also be gifting without thinking. So if you ever want to gift someone, especially someone you admire, think deeper: Will they use this? Will this fit into their lifestyle? Will this make them remember me beyond today? Because the goal is not to impress them in the moment. The goal is to stay in their memory long after the moment is gone. There’s another angle to gifting that people don’t talk about enough. It’s one of the most underrated ways to build real connections. Not just at events… even online. Think about it. In rooms where everyone wants attention, wants a picture, wants a moment… the person who comes with intention stands out. Not because of the price of the gift, but because of the thought behind it. I’ve had people walk up to me at events with something simple but thoughtful, and till today, I remember them. Same thing online. You don’t always have to wait to meet someone physically. You can send something meaningful, support what they’re building, contribute in a way that actually matters. That’s how you move from: “just another follower” to: “someone recognized.” But again, it comes back to the same thing: Intent. If it’s just for the moment, it ends with the moment. But if it’s thoughtful, it becomes a bridge. And bridges last longer than moments. Just my 2 cents anyways.
