@jerryhoogeboom True, the two different work zone vibes really work. I didn’t fully appreciate this until I collaborated with another space recently. Having zones that serve different needs and vibes are great, both for members and operators. It makes it easier for us too to herd the community.
English

@jerryhoogeboom Ah, true 😀 it'll be hard to replicate in the Netherlands though.
BWork’s 24/7 access works because there’s demand. Apart from high operational costs, as you might know, in Dutch culture, work-life balance is sacred: when it’s 6 PM, everyone goes home for dinner 😅
English

@jetsetbart @gojekindonesia Yeah, a friend shared a similar story today. She was asked to tip right in the first chat.
I'd have tipped him anyway if he’d acted nice. For this one, I let him get stuck with my order for 20 mins until I received a late compensation from Gojek, then I canceled & let him go.
English

@VChristaldi @gojekindonesia You can report the chat. Another con is using GoFood and the driver asks you to give them cash “for parking at the resto”. Yeah mate, we’ve ordered from there before and there’s no charge.p to park.

@jerryhoogeboom I’m not currently involved with any coworking spaces there (though I’d love to be)
I did visit a few coworking spaces in the Netherlands this summer to chat. It’s not Bali, so the vibe is definitely different. But curious, what aspect of BWork would you want them to replicate?
English

@VChristaldi I'm also going back to 🇳🇱 in December! Are you also involved with coworkings there? I loved the BWork but don't know anything similar in NL..
English

@VChristaldi Meanwhile I'm freezing at 2 degrees celsius outside and wish for warmer temperatures
English

@DanielLockyer @nielsgeo That’s the thing: it’s really hard to focus when sitting outside in the heat with no breeze and it’s still warm even when sitting inside with the aircon on.
English

@nielsgeo @VChristaldi Man idk, I feel fried in those temperatures, it kinda ruins the ability to just chill outside
English

@nielsgeo It’s definitely hotter than usual.
The weather app shows a normal temperature, but it feels like 40'C outside (not that we can really trust weather apps here)
English

@VChristaldi Lol I was the complete opposite haha. Is it hotter than usual in Bali?
English

@shawnbuilds @BWorkBali Oops, too soon to say.
It's raining right now 😂
English

@shawnbuilds @BWorkBali I suppose ...
1. Avoiding the start of winter in Europe or the rainy season in Thailand/Vietnam.
2. In the past years, the rain in Bali typically didn’t start until early December; just when nomads and expats begin leaving for the Christmas holidays.
English

And so it is: November is peak season for coworking in Canggu.
I visited two coworking spaces in Canggu this week: BWork and Tribal - both were packed.
@BWorkBali alone welcomed 11 returning Dutch members this week, proving my point above 👆🏼.
