Another terrible night in Kyiv, just as the American delegation arrived in moscow for talks. A genuine effort for peace begins with ending the terror, not negotiating while cities burn. russia’s ability to wage this war and stir instability elsewhere must continue to be degraded.

Thank you, @sandumaiamd, for your strong words of solidarity at @LRSeimas! We share common history and we will always remember the courage and resolve of Moldovans, being the first to recognise the Independence of @Lithuania, while still under russian occupation.

Spring and Freedom is in the air, as we celebrate the Restoration of Independence day of #Lithuania! March 11th, 1990 marks the victory of all those who believed that empires fall and that courage and sacrifice will bring us Independence, Freedom and Democracy. #Kovo11

Only yesterday in #Kharkiv we honored 🇺🇦 children killed by russia’s war. Less than a day later, a russian ballistic missile struck a residential building in the city, killing 2 more children. The world must not look away. russia must be held accountable.

Another painful loss for Ukrainian sports. Another child killed by Russia. On the night of March 7, a Russian missile struck a residential building, and one of the victims of the attack was Hordiy Udovychenko. He and his mother Olena were killed together. Young Hordiy played for the hockey team “Bilyi Bars” (White Leopard). Here is how the team responded to the death of the young athlete: “Hordiy was a sincere, kind, and open boy who loved hockey very much, as well as his team and training sessions. We remember his smile, his diligence on the ice, and the joy with which he came to every practice.” Ukraine experiences unspeakable tragedy every day, and every day it loses its future. Eternal memory to the victims of the war…

A heartfelt meeting with @Ole_Kondratiuk in @ua_parliament, reaffirming our steadfast commitment. The @LRSeimas & the people of #Lithuania stand with our Ukranian brothers and sisters, who face unimaginable hardships. We will continue supporting Ukraine and calling for further sanctions against Russia & Belarus, so that this war becomes unsustainable.

Today in Kyiv — Lithuanian MPs from different political groups. This is a clear sign of broad support for Ukraine and Lithuania’s unity in our struggle. During the meeting with the delegation of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, led by @VCmilyte, I thanked them for Lithuania’s consistent assistance and leadership at the EU level and in international formats. I briefed colleagues on the security situation: russia’s latest strikes once again prove that the aggressor is not ready for peace. Ukraine needs a just peace with strong security guarantees — without repeating the mistakes of the past. We also focused on russia’s energy terror amid freezing temperatures, the need to tighten sanctions without loopholes, mechanisms to ensure accountability for crimes, and the return of abducted Ukrainian children. Lithuanian colleagues reaffirmed their continued advocacy for a just peace and support for Ukraine’s EU membership, noting the resilience of Ukrainian society. We also discussed the situation surrounding Ukrainian athletes and the need for a clear position of the international community on decisions that contradict the principles of fairness.

I am pleased to welcome the delegation of the Seimas of Lithuania to Kyiv, including Deputy Speaker @VCmilyte and Deputy Chair of the Seimas Committee @IngridaSimonyte. Lithuania has stood firmly with Ukraine since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion, consistently providing essential support. We particularly value Lithuania’s assistance to the energy sector: 349 humanitarian shipments totaling 5,900 tonnes, including hundreds of generators, thousands of solar panels, and other critical equipment. Lithuania also transferred dismantled equipment from the Vilnius Thermal Power Plant and the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, which enabled the repair of damaged facilities and the restoration of heat and electricity supply after shelling. During the meeting, we discussed Ukraine’s energy priorities and urgent needs, including decentralization, strengthening protection, and expanding cogeneration. We highly appreciate Lithuania’s continued readiness to support these efforts. I am grateful to our Lithuanian partners for their visit and unwavering solidarity. Lithuania firmly stands on the side of light 🇺🇦🇱🇹 ______ Радий вітати в Києві делегацію Сейму Литви.

Meeting Garry @Kasparov63 is always an inspiration. His fierceness and clarity in calling for more decisiveness on the Western side is exactly what is needed. Looking forward to reading his new book “The World of Fake values”.

679 Ukrainian girls and boys will never be able to play football — Russia killed them. And it keeps killing more while moral degenerates suggest lifting bans, despite Russia’s failure to end its war. Future generations will view this as a shame reminiscent of the 1936 Olympics.

Kasparov: Russia is losing influence. Not because of Maduro, Iranians, or Syria, but because Ukraine survived, period. Ukraine proved that Putin is not all-powerful. In 2022, leaders of the free world — Biden, Scholz, Macron — were ready to give up. 1/

I associate this winter with three things: cold, darkness, and gratitude. I am not mentioning Russian missiles and drones because they strike residential buildings, schools, hospitals, and energy infrastructure all year round. That is why we in Kyiv are sitting at minus -17 degrees without heating, electricity, water, or communication. The situation is the same in other cities of Ukraine. Such actions against civilians are prohibited even during war, which is why the International Criminal Court has opened a case for crimes against humanity. But this post is about gratitude. I see and read all the messages from friends, acquaintances and simply caring people abroad. I apologise for responding with just a word or two or simply posting an emoji. Cold is an interesting thing. The body shuts down most of its functions and goes into survival mode. I always feel cold in winter, let alone in these circumstances. But your words and support warm me. You ask how we are? Here are a few sketches. 1. Almost every night, I hear explosions from Russian missiles and drones in Kyiv. Although the Russians practise double strikes, rescuers and electricians instantly appear at the sites of damaged civilian infrastructure. Day and night, in the bitter cold, they repair what has been destroyed. Russian missiles and drones will come again, and they will have to do it all over again. There is so much work that it begins to resemble Sisyphean labour. But if anything makes sense, it is these stubborn efforts.  2. Critical circumstances test people's authenticity. Ukrainians pass these tests with dignity. Recently, an elderly woman wrote on Facebook that she was freezing, and my friend, who did not know her at all, immediately went to help her. In the stairwell, she met several other people who also did not know this woman but brought her the necessary items. Perhaps we are a tired but morally healthy society. Because people support those who are struggling and help each other.  3. Shops, restaurants and administrative institutions have opened their doors to homeless cats and dogs. A night in such cold weather is death for them. People take animals in for shelter. They feed birds. Volunteer groups in different cities respond to calls, pick up frostbitten animals, treat them, and find them homes. People try to save themselves, and at the same time, save other lives that cannot cope with this challenge on their own. And there is a lot of humanity in this.  4. Neighbours hold winter picnics in the courtyard, businesses provide generators for hospitals, people light up the entrances with fairy lights, some set up mobile saunas to warm up those who are frozen, others set up colourful playhouses from ice for children. I am not romanticising at all; this is still a difficult test. The Russians have decided to freeze us to death in order to break us, but this is our only life and we have refused to be broken. If our defenders in frozen trenches can hold back the Russian advance, then so can we. And in six weeks, it will be spring. And I know this for sure. Many people abroad now have heat, light, water and communication. But they are still cold. Because a world dominated by the law of the strong and cynical profit, where moral principles  do not matter, is fragile and cold for people. So if you feel cold inside right now, I hope these stories from Kyiv during the winter blackout will warm you up.  #winter2026wewillendure

Vilnius, January 1991. Crowds of unarmed Lithuanian civilians are trying to protect strategic buildings from the soviet army. The one photo that explains why the Baltics will stand with Ukraine until the end, come hell or high water. ("Lithuanians, Ukraine is with you!")
