Attackers don’t follow the rules of how they have to attack. Good Pentesting is thinking outside of the box and doing what is needed to show vulnerabilities outside of just a Vuln Scan. Scopes matter, but try not to limit it because your attackers won’t!

@gunnarwb You don’t need a Citrix Exploit when you have a valid username and password. No MFA = A Very Bad Day. Access to a windows system at any privilege in most deployments will lead to domain admin in a couple minutes to hours.

Lacked MFA? You mean the IT team failed to enable MFA. Citrix has supported MFA for... I dunno... a decade? Two decades? I was using physical RSA keys on Citrix (I think) in the late 90s.

In recent written testimony, UnitedHealth CEO revealed that attackers used a compromised username/password combination to access Change Healthcare's Citrix remote access portal, which lacked MFA. It is still unknown which Citrix flaw was exploited during the attack, resulting in the impact of critical services used by healthcare providers across the U.S.
