@NasheCeezet_zw Because asides the bravery and all it is actually Insubordination

@NasheCeezet_zw Good point raised but wrong timing, I believe waiting until after the meeting and seeking audience with CEO in private would have been better.
English

Our intern this quarter was the quietest guy in the office. Barely spoke unless spoken to. We all thought he was shy or scared of the big bosses.
Then in the monthly all-hands meeting the CEO started his usual “hustle harder” speech. Talking about how he built the company from nothing, sleeping in the office, etc.
The intern calmly raised his hand. CEO called on him thinking he was going to praise the speech.

@AdageorgeA I doubt that. If U did, U would have tagged it as "copied".
U were looking for engagement.

My first job in the UK 🇬🇧 was pot washing in a fancy hotel kitchen 😭🇬🇧
On one of my first shifts, I decided to impress everybody with my “hardworking Naija spirit” 😂
The pile of pots and plates they expected to last 5 hours of the shift,
Omo I finished everything in 3 hours 😇😆
I was SO proud of myself.
In my mind I was like:
“Now I can relax small… maybe drink water peacefully and observe life” 😌
So I leaned on the dishwasher machine for literally a few minutes watching the chefs cook.
Little did I know…
All the sous chefs were acting supervisors and monitoring spirits 😭
“Chi is finished pot washing.”
I didn't even see the senior chef 🧑🍳 coming. One minute I was watching a man sauté something, the next minute there was a presence beside me.😪
"Right then. Since you're done —"
What followed next, I cannot fully explain with words, but I will try.😪
I changed tissue rolls in every tissue lock on the wall. I replaced the liquid soaps hanging over all the sinks around the kitchen,
I swept a kitchen that was already clean. I emptied bins that were barely full. I dragged bin trolleys OUTSIDE and cleaned them— with my two hands.
I brought out every single cup and plate that I had just washed, dried them AGAIN, and aligned them in the boxes so very carefully 🤣
The man found me work for the remaining two hours.
Every. Single. Minute. Accounted for.⏱️
I stood there arranging cups 🫖I had already arranged, and that's when the education hit me
This is not Naija 🇳🇬. Nobody here cares that you finished early. If they are paying you for 6 hours, you will WORK for 6 hours.😩
There is no "I've finished, let me rest small."
There is no leaning on the machine with your arms folded. There is no watching the chefs cook like you're a food critic.😩
If you finish your task find another one. Clean something. Organise something. Count the spoons and fork if you have to.
JUST LOOK busy. Because the moment they catch you idle, they will not give you rest they will give you purpose.
And their version of purpose at 2pm on a Tuesday is scrubbing a bin trolley in the cold outside.
That day I learned one of the most important lessons of working in the UK:🇬🇧
Your hours belong to them. All of them. Even the quiet ones.
I never leaned on that machine again. 😅
To every immigrant reading this — especially if you just started working here . Or you intend to work here,
this is not about being lazy or not. It's just a different work culture. The sooner you understand it, the smoother your journey.
No rest at work until you clock out.

@BSAT_Properties warehouse for safely and health hazards. In a good location other staffs(stackers, cleaners, admin) salary can be paid from money from factory sales. In all pray for good staff and mercy from God. With the current conditions in Nigeria you really need God or Jazz to sell market.
English

@BSAT_Properties day if their route isn’t very distant. Same thing applies to buying of Roll and Nylon bags too, always buy in bulk that you won’t have to order from the company frequently. Add a showroom/sales shop at the factory so that customers that come don’t have to go into the production..

One of my financial mistakes
2024 i opened a pure water factory for additional income.
In fact in my head I had imagined that it’s blood money business I was about to enter because I felt the expenses will be small so I imagined plenty profit.
In my mind I said after all I’m not buying the water.
Anyway let me first use 5 minutes to laugh at my self first before I start 😂😂😂
I bought every machine it needed to Nafdac standard,I also registered it with Nafdac so my sale was very legit.
That gave me my first experience with Nafdac
I started with 3 cars,a hilux truck and 2 open boot bikes.
We kicked off and my reality set in.
First of all printing of roll was more expensive than i thought, already taking half of my money.
Then as a producer our price is usually regulated with other factories,we cannot give drivers higher than other factories because we had a union binding us and it was part of our rules.
We are producers so we don’t sell directly,we give to drivers at cheaper rate then they sell and make their money.
As at that time I was giving each bag of water to my drivers at 120 naira a bag sometimes 150.
Now I will still buy fuel for the cars ooo
Even when i considered the option of them buying fuel and adjusting their price I still suffered for it.
I also pay each bagger 10 naira to bag 1 bag, this is minus other salaries of the people in production handling the major sealing machines ooo
I was burning electricity and light bill as if fire was burning my Nyash.
I changed filters every two weeks and it’s not cheap
I ran diesel to support Nepa because of course I live in Nigerian.
I had so many staffs on salaries too and there are so many other expenses i cannot say all here.
Abi is it car maintenance, story for another day 🥱
Drivers will owe me and they kept giving excuses that customers are owing them, all lies, infact me,drivers and police station became customers every week.
I gave most of this drivers accommodation ooo but the truth is they are full blown thieves.
At the end of every sales I make money but it goes like the wind to expenses and I will be left with only money to replace the rolls to produce again.
To cut the long story short I was close to running madd then I shut down the business and I regained my sanity.
If you have ever ran a pure water business you will understand this post better than anyone else, and if you intend to open a pure water factory first go to Amadioha and take juju make all your workers first swear oath before you start and take jazz not to run madd.
Which business showed you shege?
