Mohd Junaid and why Muslim Students should join the Students' Protest: Mohd Junaid's family's harassment says something out loud that no one wants to hear. So let me explain what's really happening here. Ask yourself the most basic question: how does the BJP sustain its power? And here, I think all of you will agree. By polarising Hindus and Muslims. Though they achieve it through different means, they demonise and victimise Muslims, and brainwash and scare Hindus. But the result, finally, is the same: polarisation. Eventually building a wall between them. And to be honest, they've done it with frightening success. Now let's come back to Junaid. By pressuring him not to attend the Jantar Mantar rally, they're doing exactly the same thing. Right now Junaid has 560k followers on Instagram. He's a hero among Gen Z protesters, Hindu and Muslim alike. And that is far more dangerous to the BJP than the Jantar Mantar rally itself. The rally will end. But this spark of bhaichara between Hindus and Muslims is what ends both the BJP and the RSS. This is exactly why the BJP's real enemy is Junaid. Bigger than the protest. Bigger than the protesters. And this is also why I wanted Muslim students to come to the protest. Interaction breaks barriers. Communication breaks prejudices. Gen Z is the most powerful force we have to bring real change in India. What could be better than Hindu and Muslim Gen Z standing in the same crowd, starting to know each other, starting to talk to each other? Starting to empathise and understand each other. Now, many of you may disagree, and I have no problem with that. I have my own way of arriving at solutions. And yes, it carries dangers. I won't pretend otherwise. But don't ever tell a person who has grown up as a minority, a Dalit, an Adivasi, or a Bahujan, that they don't know how to survive in this country. We know it. We live it every single day. So that's that. Now you can all decide whatever you want. And trust me, I have no problem with critics or naysayers. I will keep saying and doing what I feel is right.

Meet Junaid. He spent days serving food to people at Jantar Mantar and soon started receiving a lot of public attention. Many well-wishers from the Muslim community advised him to stay out of the limelight and avoid becoming the face of the protest. They warned him that others could leave, but he and his family might have to face the consequences. He chose not to listen. He believed the Constitution would protect him. Now, his father has been picked up and harassed by the UP Police. His sister’s in-laws have also been questioned and harassed. Junaid’s attention-seeking behaviour has put his entire family at risk of harassment, false cases, and even jail. Muslims should think about their families before resorting to such stunts. People like Junaid love appeasing the majority community. The moment they receive praise and validation from them, they lose all sense of caution. Muslims should not support or encourage such behaviour.
