In a new, community-driven approach to promoting tourism in Uganda, the producers of @TheNileOdyssey, led by @Nsababera_juju, have shifted from traditional premieres to grassroots outreach, taking film screenings and talent showcases directly to local communities (Katanga).

The Guangzhou premiere was historic, the National Premiere in Kampala was a milestone but the Katanga screening is the one that sits differently. Community performances, sports with the kids homes, the Mama Africa album launch - songs about Uganda from Katanga, and a live Luganda translation of the documentary by @Vj_Ulio - bringing Back to the Source - The Nile, to the people it was always made for. A film is not successful because of the number of viewers. It is successful when it changes how someone sees themselves and what they believe is possible for their life. If even one child in Katanga walked away that night believing they could make something - we did our job🙏🏾🇺🇬 #BacktotheSourceTheNile

Yiii mujooga bantu mwe!😭… These past few days have felt like watching people in power compete for “Uganda’s Most Heartless Leaders of the Year” kubanga every update just gets worse. The greed, selfishness & hypocrisy is too loud and actually terrifying. You steal billions comfortably, hide money in homes, bribe left & right… then wake up ready to pass suffocating taxes & bills for ordinary people💔… mbu it’s to “develop the country” and “clear debts” meanwhile the money stolen alone could probably rescue half the economy. Wabula mpulira obusungu ne nnaku ku mutima! …because the worst part is the pretending, speaking like you care about Ugandans, yet every single decision just adds more pressure and suffering on the ordinary person.
