Silverback gorilla came to mind, but honestly I'm not sure. It has raw strength and might be able to rip the lion's literal jaw off however honestly I think it could go either way. The big cat would AT MINIMUM scratch/bite the shit out of the gorilla (well, at least as long as it might be able to keep its jaw) and without medical veterinary assistance immediately after the fight the gorilla might still die even if it won but the cat could win too. Frankly, I think it's a fight that'd be so bloody that I'd rather not see it, but if a fight like that happened then I think it'd be something worth putting money on and I don't think either side would know for sure which would win. But also someone mentioned polar bears in the thread and yeah they have a SOLID suggestion there because aren't they even more brutal than brown bears/Grizzlies? Whether it's Grizz or Polar bear I think I'd put my money on the bear. Raw power, teeth, claws... yeah. I think that lion would get fucked-up.
