A promise made, a promise fulfilled.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our partners—the Dawoodi Bohra Community, the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, and the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation—for their collaboration and commitment to improving the lives of our children.

At Unoa Comprehensive School in Wote, Makueni County, this commitment is evident through access to clean water, improved classrooms, a new computer lab for digital learning, and school shoes for every learner—creating a safe and empowering space for children to thrive.

Through the Voice of Children initiative, Her Excellency Mama Rachel Ruto continues to champion the well-being and success of learners across the country—ensuring every child is supported through provision, protected in their environment, and given a platform to be heard.

I returned to Unoa Comprehensive School in Wote, Makueni County, where a promise I made during the celebration of the Day of the African Child on 16th June 2025 is now a transformation fulfilled. What was once a dusty field is now a dignified learning environment, with water from a newly drilled borehole, greener school grounds, renovated classrooms, and a thriving kitchen garden nurturing both learning and nutrition.

We express our deepest appreciation to the Merck Foundation for their unwavering commitment to empowering young people through education. Through the Educate Linda programme, 47 girls from every county in Kenya are being supported with school fees and essential needs.

International Women’s Day 2026

On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the courage, dreams, and potential of girls everywhere. At Voice of Children, we appreciate every girl who is learning, growing, and daring to dream of a brighter future. #InternationalWomensDay

@EnviClimateC_Ke and Patron @MauForest_iclip @Eng_F_Ngeno today met with eight-year-old environmental champion Sasha Chepkoech Ngeny to discuss her ongoing tree-growing and ecosystem restoration initiatives. Sasha began advocating for environmental conservation at the age of five, inspired by the President’s 15 Billion Trees initiative. She is a @FirstLadyKenya Mazingira Award winner and the author of Sasha: A Young Voice for a Greener World, a publication that amplifies children’s voices in environmental conservation and climate action. Now on a mission to grow one million trees in schools and degraded lands across Kenya, Sasha promotes school-based environmental action, encouraging learners to plant and nurture at least 30 trees annually. She has actively participated in tree growing, forest restoration, and wetland rehabilitation activities across several counties, inspiring fellow children to contribute to building a greener and climate-resilient Kenya. Following their discussion, PS Dr. Ng’eno announced the allocation of 20 hectares within the Mau Forest Complex to support Sasha’s restoration efforts. She will lead the restoration initiative in collaboration with children from surrounding communities. In recognition of her dedication and impact, Sasha was also named Young Ambassador for the MCF-ICLIP, further affirming her role in advancing Kenya’s national environmental conservation agenda. #LindaMauBoreshaMaisha #ChildrenInConservation

At Voice of Children, we believe every child deserves to be heard, and to hear. With the guidance of Her Excellency @MamaRachelRuto, we remain committed to championing access to life-changing interventions that give children the opportunity to thrive.

Through early diagnosis, specialized surgery, and post-implant therapy, children with hearing challenges are gaining confidence, integrating into school, and unlocking their full potential.

Today at Kenyatta National Hospital, we marked International Cochlear Implant Day by celebrating children whose lives have been transformed through access to cochlear implants.
