At the COP29 summit in Baku, Azerbaijan, Liberia’s Vice President, Jeremiah Kpan Koung, met with EU President @CharlesMichel to discuss the vital role forests play in protecting our planet. The delegation from #Liberia, including Dr. Emmanuel K. Urey Yarkpawolo (Director -Environmental Protection Agency) shared that the country is actively working to develop a carbon market framework to address carbon compensation challenges. They emphasized Liberia’s rich carbon and biodiversity stock, which presents a unique opportunity for collaboration. Dr. Urey also highlighted the need for financing energy infrastructure, particularly through partnerships with the EU.
