@nightingales2_2 @LizWebsterSBF @OliFletcher Hi baz, we agree that it's possible to produce nutritious food without animal inputs, and there are examples of farmers doing this, but the majority of farmers are not there yet. Instead, we focus on areas of strong alignment such as the horrifyingly low standards for imports.

@LizWebsterSBF @OliFletcher @VSF_UK manure is just nutrients. we can (and do) recycle green waste and produce compost/fertilisers without animals in the loop. i wonder if @VSF_UK support farmers exploiting animals?

Absolutely spot on @OliFletcher gets to the core of culture wars which have divided opposition to USA trade deal. Five years ago we won the argument because 9/10 British reject chlorinated chicken and hormone fed beef. We need to focus on what unites us.
