@EddieLouise @SaraSecoraVO It's economics though, that's how supply and demand works, don't get me wrong, charge what you charge for authentic human artisan voice work, but don't be surprised if people pass and choose the cheaper option, people DO pay for "hand crafted" items, it's a sign of quality

@VaChrisd @SaraSecoraVO This is what the bosses want you to think. Get in solidarity with your fellow actors to counter it. Reach out to your audience and educate on ai stealing jobs. Value yourself.

Today, a client said $50 for a game role was their standard and many other actors openly take that rate. They were confused as to why my rates were so high when I asked for the standard indie rate. ($250 /hr with a 2 hour min) A thread about this.

@SaraSecoraVO Now, I've only done free indi projects so far, but I want to touch on something, with ai vo on the rise, it makes it infinitely cheaper to get something done, if clients can't pay $250, they will use ai, doesn't this mean we are pricing ourselves out of jobs?

To fellow actors: The race to the bottom is real. The more we accept jobs like that, the less likely we will be able to make this career livable for many. Especially with AI on the rise. Value yourself, the industry, and your community of actors more.
