"The hastily-cobbled-together, back-of-a-cigarette-packet April 21st referendum on redistricting (or “revenge gerrymandering” amendment as we like to call it) has more holes than a sponge, Swiss cheese, and a golf course combined. Is the process by which this referendum was called even legal? Is the blatantly unfair referendum question legal? These are questions which should be resolved before voting even starts." #gerrymandering #virginia #election @EIwatchdogs @electionhttps://www.cbs19news.com/news/state/allen-debate-with-spanberger-on-redistricting-amendment-not-too-much-to-ask/article_87bf7cbc-fc30-5c89-b98b-81a5ed51f6f1.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=user-share via @CBS19News

George Washington's Birthday or President's Day?
FACT: “Presidents’ Day” was never made official. The federal holiday is still Washington’s Birthday. While the name “Presidents’ Day” was proposed for this Monday holiday in 1951, the U.S. government never officially changed the name. In the 1980s, thanks to advertising campaigns for holiday sales, the term became popularized and largely accepted.
The idea behind the name was to create a holiday that did not recognize a specific president, but rather celebrated the office of the presidency. This joint recognition would also celebrate President Lincoln's February 12 birthday within the same period, but arguably, George Washington (the Father of our country) deserves his own day. Happy Birthday #GeorgeWashington! 🥳 #notpresidentsday #georgewashingtonsbirthday
