VRE will return to normal service tomorrow, Thursday, May 7, 2026. We appreciate your understanding as we adapted to unforeseen construction delays at Alexandria this week. And, don't forget that both Manassas Line 329 and Fredericksburg 307 will depart from Union Station in the afternoons going forward! This shift will eliminate the need for a shuffle at Alexandria. The change should improve efficiency during our peak commute period.

VRE will operate on the S Schedule again tomorrow (Tuesday, May 5), due to ongoing bridge replacement construction. Fredericksburg Line trains 300 (morning) and 303 (afternoon) also will operate. The latest version of the S Schedule is available at vre.org/schedule/ Train 313 passengers: On S Schedule days, Train 313 will originate at the Alexandria Station at 6:33 p.m. Train 313’s passengers can board Manassas Line Train 335 at Union Station, L’Enfant and Crystal City, then transfer to Train 313 at Alexandria. Please note that Train 335 departs those stations 10 minutes earlier than Train 313’s usual departure times. This is reflected in the latest version of the S Schedule. The following trains WILL operate on Tuesday, May 5: Fredericksburg Line AM: 300 – Departs Spotsylvania at 4:52 AM 302 – Departs Spotsylvania at 5:06 AM 306 – Departs Spotsylvania at 5:41 AM 310 – Departs Spotsylvania at 6:26 AM 314 – Departs Spotsylvania at 7:46 AM (terminates at the Alexandria Station) Fredericksburg Line PM: 301 – Departs Union Station at 1:35 PM 303 – Departs Union Station at 3:00 PM 305 – Departs Union Station at 3:30 PM 309 – Departs Union Station at 4:40 PM 313 – Departs Alexandria Station at 6:33 p.m. (Passengers can ride Manassas Line Train 335 from Union Station, L’Enfant and Crystal City and transfer to Train 313 at Alexandria. Train 335 runs 10 minutes ahead of Train 313’s usual schedule.) Manassas Line trains 333 (scheduled to depart Union Station at 5:30 p.m.) and 336 (scheduled to depart Broad Run Station at 3:28 p.m.) are canceled this evening due to anticipated congestion related to the special event at Union Station. Delays are expected.

Beginning today, riders detraining at Alexandria will be redirected towards the front of the Alexandria station in order to use the ADA ramp to access King St. and/or the Metro. This redirection will last approximately 2 years. For a map and other project details, visit: vre.org/alexandria-sta…

Mon., riders detraining ALX will detour to the front of the station in order to & use ADA ramp to access King St. 3/26 & 3/27 - riders will go to front of the station & use the Callahan Dr sidewalk for 2 days only. Walking traffic will revert to ADA ramp after those 2 days.
