Premier League distributions to clubs fell slightly in 2024/25 compared to the previous season. This was most noticeable in terms of the domestic broadcast deal. Suggests that the overheads in running the Premier League have increased (most noticeably legal and lobbying costs) as distribution is nett of central costs. Premier League was tied to a fixed price deal with broadcasters for three years (that has been replaced in 2025/26 with a slightly more lucrative deal but giving away far more matches). Makes qualifying for the expanded Champions League even more important, as that is showing significant growth still, and stadium expansion and multi function use of stadiums will become even more critical under SCR rules.
