Traffic is being diverted onto Highway 6 at Minturn but it will be slow going and a back up into Vail is expected. Please avoid traveling west out of Vail if possible, and please be patient with clean up operations.

A semi carrying heavy axles has overturned westbound on I-70 at the very west end of Dowd Junction. Both lanes are blocked. It will take a long while to clean up and a crane or other heavy piece of machinery will be required to reload the axles on to a new truck.
