One of the silent threats to emergency medicine is the drop in productivity of ED MD's. A 20% reduction in number of patients seen per hour requires 25% more physician time (either more shifts or more physicians) or wait times will continue to rise 1/@CAEP_Docs @ACEPNow

This is terrible. I saw a patient for a leg laceration today, difficult social situation and no coverage. Forget about my billing, but there’s nothing I can do (starting April 1) to prevent her from getting hit with a $900 hospital bill.
