From our Head of Programme, Armin Wilhelm, on @WFP’s response to the escalation of conflict in #Lebanon since the first hours. With support from donors like @GermanEmbBeirut , we are able to continue scaling up to respond to growing needs.

Across #Lebanon, @WFP continues scaling up its response with its local partners and under the leadership of the Government, reaching over 200,000 conflict-affected people with food and cash assistance. Our Head of Field Office in North Lebanon speaks from the kitchen and shelters, where meals are being prepared for displaced families.

Just last Sunday, schools across Lebanon were preparing to open their doors to children for a new week of learning. Instead, they opened their doors to families seeking safety. @WFP is reaching over 200,000 conflict-affected people with emergency food and cash assistance — a response made possible through strong partnerships with local and government partners and communities on the ground. But needs are already outpacing resources. Our acting Country Director Anne Valand @ValandAnne speaks more below.
