Over 100 delegates attended conference on monetising #sociavalue of #cooperative. The event was in Spain hosted by @CoopsAGACA. Approaches to subsectors & by geographical spread were explored, allowing for debate & agreement on standardised model that could be used across Europe.

Pilot training held in Latvia last week. Among the participants 6 were representatives of #cooperatives. The training included theory & practical tasks to understand principles in monetizing #socialvalue & how it can be further developed, more standardized, made simpler.

Two Spanish cooperatives implemented #socialaccounting this year with collaboration of #GEAccounting & aligned with @ValueCoop. Setting intangible values that #agrifood #cooperatives contribute to society, can be translated into economic terms. Read more! bit.ly/3FE9Kuk

Public procurement can support Social Economy. So far UE doesn't mandate #socialvalue as a criteria to award contracts, yet some countries include it in the law, showing how relevant it is finding out how to measure it. Learn EU's recommendations: bit.ly/3eK6wen #AGRRA

We aim to learn, in money, what #coops do outside their business. In Galicia @CoopsAGACA conducts interviews with cooperatives like #Postoiro, who brought back a native onion variant & collaborates with local highschool taking in students as interns. #cooperatives #socialvalue

Our Spanish partners continue to work. Besides the focus group held in July, at @CoopsAGACA, 10 stakeholders were identified and interviewed. @GEAccounting is working with those results to determine useful variables to measure the #socialvalue of #cooperatives. #AGRRA #Agrifood
