There’s so much truth to this.
I’ve had two extended breaks from dressage, 4 months each, from injuries.
During that time, I worked on everything mentally. I’d do my whole ride mentally.
My riding improved both times. Because I’m imagining it perfect, my brain implemented it IRL.

Rewrite your history. Take every embarrassing memory. Every moment that still curls your lips. Every story you've been telling yourself about who you were. Get it on the page unfiltered. Then cross out every interpretation until only the facts remain. Then rewrite it from who you are now. You'll realize you were never the person in that story. You were always the one writing it.

My beautiful mom passed away yesterday after months of battling various illnesses that sprung from a broken hip. Thanks to all of you who have sent kind thoughts, prayers and wishes. She was a bright, happy soul and she will be missed. 💔

Yeah…. all the decisions that you made that were unhealthy when you were younger that had no immediate effect hit like a train at 40. I was just having a conversation that I feel fantastic and pretty much do everything I want and there’s people my age that look like an old shoe. Decades go by fast and you’re gonna pay if you don’t have some discipline.

Being in your early 40s is weird, man. People around your age are in every stage of life. You have people who are grandparents. You have people who have newborns. You have people dating 25-year-olds. You have people celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. Some of them look 60, and some of them look 30. All the bases are covered when you are in your early 40s.
